Yep, the whole piggin World seems able to get the planning permission to build a lovely new ground. Dartford had similar problems to us, with their old ground being sold with nowhere to go, they ended up ground-sharing north of the river, and there seemed absolutely no prospect of them getting a ground in Dartford again.

Yep you've guessed it, they have done it. Good luck to them, but WTF can't we get one?

No, it was a rhetorical rant.

Because there stadium is a 4,000 seater and ours is a 24,000 seater. Bit Bigger i'd assume.

Lots of teams are building new grounds, but there is a difference between having a nice stadium and the fans to fill it plus a decent team to grace the pitch, however most of them don't have to contend with LDC.

It's ironic that Dartford were also screwed by their Chairman. The present Dartford FC is a fairly new club after the old one went bust. They are in the probably unique position of having had a Chairman who managed to screw two football clubs. The man in question - Jim Thompson. He also ruined Maidstone United. How? By selling their ground and moving to Dartford, where he also became Chairman. Maidstone tried to build a new ground at Hollingbourne, just by the M20. Guess who stopped them, claiming that the beautiful countryside would be spoilt? Liberal Democrat councillors. Guess what is there now at Hollingbourne. A motorway service area.

That is it, I now know what the plan is, the M27 will be extended through Sussex and Kent all the way to Dover, Falmer has been earmarked for a service area.
