It's already been mentioned about the connection between the Mears' and the Council leader but is there also a connection to the Mears firm that has the repairs contract for Council homes & maintenence?

Isn't it permanently dark at this time of year too? How does that work in terms of a visit?

We arrived by plane about 10.30 am and it was just about light but by 1pm it was dark. However because there is snow everywhere it doesn't seem to be dark. All the routes through the forest are lit by candles.

We managed to go sledging, have a ride on a sleigh pulled by reindeer. a trip out into the countryside on a snow mobile and be pulled on a cart thing through the forest by huskies - all in the dark. Fantastic meal in a hotel and then off to Santaland in the late afternoon.

Probably about as far removed from what Victor Mears had to offer as you can get.

All those people who paid by credit card should now get there money back if they have not been yet.

Doesn't that only apply to bookings of £100 or more?
Doesn't that only apply to merchants who have gone bust?

Does that apply to events where the reality falls well short of expectations? If so, can we get refunds from recent matches at Withdean ??

Seasonal bounce :xmas:
It'll bounce higher next week.

BBC News - Brothers deny Lapland park charge

Brothers deny Lapland park charge

Two brothers who ran a Christmas Lapland park which received thousands of complaints from visitors have denied misleading customers.

Victor and Henry Mears are being prosecuted over their roles in the attraction in the New Forest.

The theme park closed after a few days in the run up to Christmas 2008.

Victor Mears, 66 and Henry Mears, 59, of Brighton, pleaded not guilty to nine charges of engaging in a commercial practice which is a misleading action.

The case, at Bournemouth Crown Court, was adjourned until 22 December.

Dorset County Council trading standards brought about the case under the Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008.

They claim the average customer would have been misled by newspaper adverts, flyers and website information about what to expect at the attraction.
