The whole point of this thread is who if it comes to it would you want as a manager?

and my point is we shouldnt be giving such media speculation any credibility by discussing it.

1st choice - Harry Redknapp
2nd choice - Roy Hodgeson
3rd choice - David Beckham

... if you dont like it then dont bother making a discussion out of it.

because it annoys me that the subject is up for discussion. rather than getting behind the team, seems the media are written us off and rounding on Capello already.

Because he's an absolute moron.

thanks.

Sure 'Arry will put his name forward as the saviour. Will be the same names 'Big Sam', Pearce, O'Neill and some of the papers going orgasmic that the cockney knob will get it.
Only one option in my view and that is Hodgson, experience internationally, manager in Europe, done well in European competitions with average players and bar one bad time at Blackburn done well in the premiership.

The FA would never appoint Redknapp in my opinion.

The only obvious English candidate is Hodgson, not that he would be my choice.

But thats where the FA would go IF a change was to be made

Oh and I am sick and tired of this our media always f*** it up bollox. If people honestly think the Brazilians, or Italian press etc are not the same you are seriously mistaken.

I think Capello will see out his contract and, barring a f*** up on Wednesday, I still think he is the man for the job.

Having said that, Hodgeson is the only obvious choice if Capello walks.

I think Beckham might be good for a tournament situation, but not sure about a drawn out 18 month qualifying campaign.

Should we be thinking about different managers for different situations?

(Purely hypothetical, I hope Capello stays)

Its a non-story.
Capello wouldn't walk out on a job that pays him £6m a year, and the FA cannot afford to sack him (have they even finished paying off Sven yet ?). Anyway, this is nothing new. England ALWAYS stumble through the Group stage, its the law. We've still got our heroic / unlucky defeat in the knockout stages to look forward to, don't worry.

Hodgson or the MASSIVELY overlooked Martin O'Neill.

nobody is going to do a better job than capello - if he does go we might as well just give up now
