Shame as Greer's more than capable as back-up. I suppose he wants to be playing every week as he's not getting any younger.

Thanks for being part of a great squad and all your efforts.

Pleased that Bruno is here for another year, I'm sure we haven't seen the last of Calde at the club. Greer, Calde, Chicksen and Crofts will all be picked up by other clubs down the pyramid or possibly the MTL for GG. Bobby can relax in style now.

If there is a suitable vacancy and he's the best candidate then by all means give him a job.
I'm not a fan of the "jobs for the boys" approach that persists at football clubs. Cricket clubs are even worse for it.

We've moved on from the Dick Tight times when he gave jobs on the clubs payroll to every old player, it maybe be ruthless but once a player's time is up they should be moved on not kept on for sentimental reasons or the club doesn't move on

Many thanks to all those released escpecially Greer and Calde who have been sensational servants to us and will be missed greatly.

Both at the stage in careers when they just want to play football, and will have plenty of good offers.

I would imagine moving on Greer and him being skipper will release significant wages also.

I thought Greer had shown enough in the last 3 games to warrant another year, but clearly Hughton has other ideas. Thanks Gordon, you've been magnificent.

I suppose we don't know what conversations have happened. If Calde and Greer have both stated they want to find regular first team football to see out their careers, then I guess there is no point offering them contracts in a squad role where they'll only play if there are several injuries. I hope that's whats happened anyway.

Errrrrr, I remember seasons at Withdean where we seemed to permanently be in the loan market for a keeper.

Tearing shoulder muscles or car crashes outside of the transfer window don't help. Last season we had to take a loan because one of the keepers was ill, which was when Al Habsi came for a month.

The first season at Falmer we only had 2 keepers of note on the books, neither of which were any cop, hence Harper coming in and then that truly awful South American keeper.

It is only this season where we have really had 3.5 senior keepers on the books. Most years it has been a first choice and then a ropey one.

I'm sure this is exactly what happened.

I'm assuming Ankergren being retained is down to the non option of emergency loans next season? If the worst happens he can stand in and is also apparently a great character to have at the club.

I'd heard one or two decisions were still being made after initial conversations on Tuesday.

I can only assume it was the GG one. I have no inside knowledge at all, but I wonder if a reduced offer was made, based on him no longer being a first choice and he's decided he wants more playing action so will explore other options.

It's the only one of the moves where you can envisage it wasn't pretty clear cut.

With Walton being upgraded we now have 4.

Walton will go out on loan.

Casper is decent at Championship level. He kept 11 clean sheets in our first season at Falmer. He's obviously happy to be third choice for not a lot of money.

That really is so hard to take.

I feel like a member of my family has emigrated to New Zealand and I'm never going to see them again.

I assume Bruno's new contract will require him to keep the beard? To my mind there's been a direct relation between the lusciousness of his beard and his on field quality this season.

Freudian slip?

Total respect to Niki Maenpaa for being a model professional this season and playing constant understudy to Stockdale. Not an easy role, but to my knowledge he's never whinged once and both keepers seem appear to be fully supportive of each other, at least so far as can be ascertained from the Amex pre-match warm-up. Both keepers a credit to the club

Sorry to disagree but Casper is a liability at this level.

The Forest game in 2013 summed him up. Brilliant shot stopping in the game, only to let me through his legs in injury time.

I can only presume he is decent to have around the place, does not mind having the ball pinged at him in training and is cheap.

Bobby I'd accepted so it doesn't hurt so much. I'm just so happy he made a lovely contribution to this season.

GG still has a good move in him so almost pleased for him to get out now and get another season as a first choice centre back somewhere.

Calderon HURTS. Honestly, I think I ACTUALLY loved him.
