I really hope Burnley stay up and Bolton go down. Then Coyle would really regret what is already a daft decision.

Where the hell did o'driscoll come from? On Sunday night Lee Clark was odds on and Laws was a very short price second favourite.

surely no chance of that happening!

shows what I know................O'Driscoll about to be announced according to the Beeb!

Good luck to him but no matter how good he may be as a coach you would have to think his lack of experience at that level (and with the support infrastructure already having absconded to Bolton) means they are favourites to plummet towards the drop.

still hope they say up and Bolton go down though

Would be a great choice. Fair enough, they may go down, but he's a great long-term manager and wouldn't be surprised if he made them an established Premier League club.

Not sure why, but I don't really rate O'Driscoll. He's been given the horrible "Wenger of the lower divisions" tag, which is never going to get anyone promoted from the Championship quicker than an Ady Boothroyd style team. A bit fortunate to get Bournemouth through the play-offs, and Donny have been treading water for a while now (Brian Laws should get that job if he goes). O'Driscoll's overall record is not all that good. By all accounts the deal is done, so he could make a name for himself here. Burnley players are in for a shock - polar opposite of Owen Coyle in terms of personality, although similar football ethic.

I think the reason I like him is that he's been at good clubs where he's been given time to improve the team. Bournemouth he had a pretty varied time to be honest, but I think he's done wonders at Donny and they're now in far better shape than they were. To be honest, its just nice to see a decent lower league manager that has bided his time being given a chance at the top level.

Agree 100%. Considering the resources he has had at the respective clubs. or rather lack of them, his teams play good attractive football and are generally successful.

Good luck to him and Burnley :clap:

Sean O'Driscoll is a great manager but I can't believe he will have much chance of turning the Burnley team around in the second half of the season. Coyle got them starting well, but I think even under him they would have been in serious danger of really freefalling in the second half of the season once the novelty of the home record wears off.

Laws has done well at Scunthorpe and I guess it maybe better than getting a big name in at this stage. Odds in him being there at the start of next season?
