Not sure if it extends to Brighton, but we've just bought a new boiler and flue using this scheme:

Energy smart - value for money high efficiency boilers


The guy we're getting to fit/relocate it (and fit digital thermostat and radiator valves) seemed really impressed by the prices. Cost us £800 for a Worcester Greenstar 28i Junior and he's charging £1,500 for the work.

mone cost a few cups of tea, and some biccies.. aah, the wonders of council renting!

boiler was fitted by PH Jones -one of B&H council's main contractor/s, for these things i believe?.

was two days work, if you needed to price up, labour costs wise- main part of time was spent drilling a fewck off hole through kitchen wall for the vent.

I can assure you that is a crazy price and is only because you're not living in the south of England. Whoever did all that for you must have supplied the whole lot at cost and worked for about £100 a day, would not happen round here unless it was genuine 'mates rates'

believe it or not work is very short here in Wales,the tiler I used normally works in London and did do ours at mates rates as he reckons he could get 3 times what I paid him in London.

I do know what things cost in Brighton my grandson is corgi registered and makes a good living and never moves out of the Brighton area

Air heat pump for us; energy input 1kw, output 3kw, might even be able to run it from a solar panel.
