G/P surgeries/Dr's/chemist never do enough. They could and SHOULD lean on people to give blood.

They need to sort there appointment system out.
I used to just turn up and give blood.
Then they started doing appointments, I would go on my way home, turn up, and not be able to donate because appointments have priority. Even if they turn up late.
Got a date to go last week, tried to make an appointment, put my time slots into their form. Get a reply hours later, that those options are all filled. Tried again, with different options, hours later get an email. The session is full, but you can turn up on the day, and we'll see you if we can!

Been twice now, first time wasn't good, took ages to fill the bag and had massive bruise on arm for a couple of weeks after. 2nd time was much quicker and no bruise. Crap needler first time I think. Would still encourage people to go, shame most of the nurses were male though.
