Wow that would be much better than selling him to a direct rival. Nice bit of global publicity too. Price would have to be right but is the one player I’d be accepting big bid for if I was Uncle Tony.

I must have imagined Dortmund signing Sancho and Bellingham then

Those signings I believe were effectively little more than compensation payment s Hence fantastic value for money
Where as BW would be a proper purchase

Oops Sancho 8m
Bellingham 22.75 m

Yep.

And might be cheaper for me too as my son has a White Albion shirt (his favourite player) and an Mbappe PSG shirt so I could maybe find a way of taking the 3 and White off the Albion shirt and replacing Mbappe on the PSG one! Much rather this than Liverpool or United!

Football is a business, and Uncle Tony is a businessman at the end of the day. If a super-power rich club wants to dig deep and pay the silver, off he toddles - with our best wishes. Good for the Albion, and good for Ben as he'll get a massive pay rise.

Why have we become a selling club? We should be looking at keeping our best players and building around them. PB said Europe in 5 years, was that the Albion or just our current players?

I'm not sure selling 1 or 2 of our best players, to big clubs makes you a 'selling club'

Realistically almost every club is a selling club. Manchester United sold Ronaldo to Real Madrid, Liverpool sold Coutinho to Barcelona, Chelsea sold Hazard to Real Madrid, etc. If a player wants to go and a big club is prepared to pay a lot of money then it's very hard not to sell.

We have to sell all the time we cannot compete for titles otherwise we become a club that talented youngsters will avoid joining. The trick is to sell to a top side for a high price and hope that the player becomes a regular so we can claim the credit for developing their career and encourage others to take a similar route.

Almost all superstars come from a small club and get signed young following game time at a club brave enough to play them. We are planning to maximise this route and must allow players to leave around 24/25 with 100+ games and plenty of potential to still improve making them £50m+ players
