Say, if Hammond did leave, who would you like to see being made the new club captain.

Myself would say El-Abd, he's strong and a leader.

why have a captain who wouldn't be in the first team if everyone was available?!?!

I think El-Abd on current form would be in the team, either in defence or central midfield. Hinshelwood will more than likely never play again, and Lynch has been poor of late so should be kept on the bench in my opinion.

I think Thomson looks like he would be a great captain (obviously he would be because he's been one before), but you can't really make someone captain after 1 game with a club!

Kuipers isn't really a captain, despite being long-serving and vocal. I don't think Goalkeepers work as captains either because you need someone in the thick of things - able to diffuse situations or jump in when needed, and able to keep the team motivated around them.

In the end I went for Forster. I might be wrong as he may not be a natural leader, but his experience, his hard work and the way he already seems to try and help his teamates through games suggest that he is captain material.

Elphick could well be a future captain, if he stays with us!

Thomson has a proven record as a captain, so I would say him.

But then again he hasn't been with us long enough.

So I say give it to Kuipers or Forster

at the risk of posting about football I'd go Kuipers for the following reasons:

1) Seniority
2) It's ultimately his job that we keep a clean sheet so his call should be sacrosanct when defending set pieces
3) He's not a bully like Cullip
4) Forwards can't do the job
5) Midfield have enough on their plate
6) outfield players in general should all be leaders
7) anyone who needs a token to bring the best out in them is lacking (except Beckham, but we don't have him)

N.B. I don't go and watch us anymore and don't give a toss

f*** it, give it to the Falkirk bloke if it's that important to him

If he really needs an armband to tell a few kids to pull their socks up then so be it.

yours wishing the club well,

P
