The actual facts are crudely something along these lines;

Brighton "lets discuss our next seasons kit"

Nike "you can have this standard template shirt - we'll give you it for £19 per unit and you can probably sell it for £50 per unit, making £31 per unit for the club"

Brighton " but we'd really like a more bespoke, interesting kit"

Nike "okay thats no problem we can work with you and produce something you like, but the cost for those is £28 per unit and you'll still only sell at £50 per unit, making just £22 per unit for the club - its up to you"

Brighton " okay, we'll take the templete one :-( "

Don’t undersell the value of a Prem shirt- Chelsea are charging £100 for their new one!

I'll hazard a guess Mr Barber is, at this very moment, bribing Bozza with everything he's got for your contact information.

With that kind of business acumen you might just find yourself the kit manufacturer, but not for long.

I see Nike are trying the old 'player' shirt trick again. Seem to recall they did it with England shirts a few years ago but very few fell for it. I guess you get a better quality polyester for the extra £30:rolleyes:

I agree with you, I'm just saying thats roughly how the conversation goes and most clubs wont be that confident so will go with the Nike template option

obviously the numbers I used are not accurate - I was just giving an example of MORE profit to be had for the club if the club go with the Nike template

Think I'd actually buy my first shirt since the 2011-2013 kit if it looked like that.

It seems this particular kit would sell well, I’d predict probably the biggest selling kit in fact since we arrived in the PL, as it happens the new away kit will probably be a dull yellow which we are due again soon or a Roma red!

The away shirt will indeed be 'mustard'. It will have a v-neck, long sleeves and in a break with convention be made from 100% pure lambswool. Replicas will be available from Marks and Spencer.

Remember when the shop actually SOLD iron-on club badges individually?

A few of us on here were discussing buying the orange templated shirt without the iron-on Amex transfer, saving £25+.

The badge soon disappeared from sale. :D
