Jeff Stelling is the best sports anchorman since Des Lynam in his heyday. Personally, I like Lee Dixon off MOTD and think Stelling and Dixon would be the dream combo.

Colin Murray is 20-1, good outside shout.

It will be some bland anchor, fits in with Sky.

Can you give us a list of the odds UB?? Can't access betting websites at work. :nono:

Barnes is rubbish as a co-commentator, he proved that when Channel 5 had the rights for Serie A a few years ago.

That was positively cringing.

Anchor = Unbelievable Jeff
Co-commentary = Jamie Redknapp

Orrrrrrr for that Murray Walker type commentary where he sees everything 10 minutes later but makes you laugh and not shout at the tv screen... step up Cammy!

I reckon it's got to be Jeff for anchor, but they may go for Ben ?? that they got from GMTV, he seems to not be doing much at the mo (I know he does goals on Sunday but surely they can get someone else in for that).

Not sure about co-commentator, Alan Smith hopefully won't be up for promotion, his nasally whine gets on my nerves enough as it is.

If the Scousers start bleating about Gary Neville getting a pundit's job they want shooting.

They have had a MOTD monopoly for about 20 years. I cannot put into words how bored I am of Alan Hansen failing to acknowledge the latest team to give Liverpool a thrashing, and instead focus only on their shortcomings.

You can see the Come Dine with me already, can't you? A minor celebrity special, featuring Gray, Jim Davidson, Germaine Greer and Peter Tatchell discussing the issues at hand over scallops with chorizo

He can't do CDWM, because he'd consider that 'cooking is for women'.
He can't be a Loose WOMEN panellist because he's a bloke.
The BBC wouldn't touch him, so MOTD is out.
Dancing is also 'for women'
He wouldn't have the BALLS to become a manager, or train to be an official.

Kangaroo COCK it is then.

Who Will Replace andy gray On The Last Word?

1/2 Jamie Redknapp 5/1 Graeme Souness
8/1 Ray Wilkins 10/1 Chris Kamara
10/1 Sam Allardyce 20/1 Lee Dixon
20/1 Chris Hughton 20/1 Alan Hansen
25/1 Matt Le Tissier 33/1 Phil Thompson
33/1 Clarke Carlisle 50/1 Paul Merson
100/1 Dean Windass

Trouble is with these lists, you need someone who is friendly, warm and articulate to appeal to most people. Merson & Windass would definitely be ruled out as they can barely speak English, quite funny and bearable on Soccer Sat, but not to present a show. Not enough people would like Souness or Thompson, too cold. Allardyce would not appeal to to many people either. From those, think Redknapp is realistic, Clarke Carlisle is a good call too.

I'd love this, but he does a helluva lot of work already at the moment with his current shows (don't forget he has Countdown to film too and that's over 200 half hour shows a year. Not sure what their filming schedule is though I imagine it takes up a lot of time.)

Time for Sid Waddell to step up to the plate, Team him up with Mick mc Carthy as main presenter this would be a Sky dream team.I could then go back to the days of having a super sunday nap & save £62 a month.

Very good. If Sid did football....

'Giving Rooney the ball there, it's like giving Dracula the keys* to the bloodbank'.

(*no pun intended)
