Been revisiting The Queen's Gambit for the first time since the confines of the pandemic. It really is a stunning piece of work
I'm about 3/4 of the way through episode 1 and I love it. I've avoided reading the books as I like to experience the different version in isolation.3 Body Problem dropped today, 8 episodes. I've watched the first two and am hooked. So far an engrossing and excellent sci-fi series.
Will look to finish the series over the weekend.
Just finished Fauda. Watched all four series one after another. Fookin' brilliant
I managed to overlook the odd prosthetic by focusing on the boobies that made a regular appearanceJust finished a little binge watch of ' Griselda' starring Sofía Vergara as the true life Columbian drug 'godmother' Griselda Blanco. If you can ignore her strange prosthetic make up it's brutal but excellent.
Not to mention her EXTREMELY hot boyfriend rocking that tache!!!I managed to overlook the odd prosthetic by focusing on the boobies that made a regular appearance
Gave up after 2 episodes. Seemed like all the Guy Ritchie stereotypes rolled into one with the obligatory cameo by Vinnie JonesEnjoyed The Gentleman.
Thieving Irish travellers, Scouse crims, cockney geezers and gangsters, Eastern European muscle, the ‘token’ black enforcer who has almost no dialogue, the mixed race chilled stoner who cultivates the weed, the machete wielding female Asian boss, it couldn’t be more loaded with lazy, outdated stereotypes if GR had triedGave up after 2 episodes. Did you finish it? I thought it was really disappointing.Only just finished E1 of German Limited Series 'The Signal' but already looking like that rarest of things: an intelligent riveting sci-fi
Finished it, but lets just say it didn't live up to its initial promiseDid you finish it? I thought it was really disappointing.
I find it very watchable, tho fairly corny. Reminds me of 'Ghosts' in places, and not in a good way. The swearing was what struck me also, it seems to be just chucked in for no good reason. Can only assume it's in the book and the makers have just slavishly pasted it into the scriptFinished 3 Body Problem. I assume there is more to come but if there is I am not sure that I would hurry to watch it. Was well made, apart from the unnecessary swearing, but ultimately unsatisfactory.
Don't bother watching the Signal, that really is shite.
The 2 best things on Netflix remain Queen's Gambit and the Trial of the Chicago Seven.
I thought 3 Body Problem was great. Really interesting sci fi, with a lot of ideas to unpick. Sadly I'd be amazed if there's another series of it. It seems a strange choice to make a sci fi, epic series with a a big story with Netflix.Finished 3 Body Problem. You missed one off of your Guy Ritchie Bingo card....crime boss in clink but still pulling the strings as he runs the prison.Thieving Irish travellers, Scouse crims, cockney geezers and gangsters, Eastern European muscle, the ‘token’ black enforcer who has almost no dialogue, the mixed race chilled stoner who cultivates the weed, the machete wielding female Asian boss, it couldn’t be more loaded with lazy, outdated stereotypes if GR had tried
