I think I'd heard it before (memorable, then!), but my overriding impression of it is not exactly 'must watch'. Unless you want to confirm that fact that he's a bit of a twat for doing that. I bet that REALLY made the players want to give everything for him after that...

I've heard the bowling story told from a player. It was a bonding session and cost them all a measly £20 not to run around in awful weather. Can't remember who it was but as he told it Warnock left them all sorting out their hire shoes and they were waiting for him as he comes back and puts on his own shoes, his special bowling glove and then gets out his custom ball. They all know they've been stitched up and found it funny.
Never known a Warnock team not have spirit so I'd trust his judgement on how how it was received.
