I love them both very much. ( ). I dont think you can compare them. Neighbours is potentially light comedy with a bit of black comedy in it, whereas Home & Away is more of a drama than a soap.

By the way, who is the stalker? Is it Zoe?

I always hated Diagnosis Murder. Quincy ME was by far the best crime show. Doctors was cook tho

When I was a student I always watched Quincy or Ironside when it was on instead. Gave up watching neighbours many years ago.

I wonder how Barry Van Dyke got the job of playing Dick Van Dyke's son on Diagnosis Murder. I have to say that i do watch it. Even on a Sunday as i lie with my headache, large newspaper and lemony drink.

I won't go into my Quincy rant again.

Agreed. Ironside is also quality, as is Kojak.

Ah, Neighbours. Memories of coming home from school and sitting down to watch it. It was crap then, and yet I still saw it every day.

When I started working I didn't see it for about ten years, then when I caught it again, it was like I'd never been away :lolol:

Ancient highlights for me included:

-Helen Daniels, had every illness & disability under the sun, yet it still took them years to kill her off. Oh, and the strange childish sniggers we let out whenever she went off to paint in the Bungle Bungles.

-Paul Robinson, the man diagnosed with a low sperm count, yet at the last check, he had 5 kids with three different women (funny how he's now back in it, albeit with one leg, and never mentions any of them).

-Kerry Mangel getting shot while protesting at a duck hunt

-Daphne Clarke croaking in Des's snivelling arms (oh the emotion)

-Plain Jane Superbrain, who in the best Hollywood tradition, simply had to take her hair down and remove her glasses to be transformed into a goddess

-The way that whenever they opened the front door to Des Clarke's house, now Susan Kennedy's place, the cardboard scenery in the background visibly shook

-The old title sequence, which featured somebody- I can't remember who- breaking Mrs Mangel's window, and her looking on indignantly
:lolol:

Happy days. That's when good neighbours become good friends you know.

Clive Gibbons, the comedy doctor!

Forgotten all about him. He's probably in rehab now.

he did have a tender side though. Damnit he just wanted to raise that baby as his own! I'll get you Paul Robinson, you one-legged sex-pest. I'll dance on your father's grave and urinate on Mrs Mangle's portrait!

Baby? Sadly I can't remember that particular quality storyline.

Many of the girls in my class at school cried like, er, girls when poor old Todd Landers got run over though

:lolol:

What about Bronwyn, wearer of comfy cardigans, and her fat sister Sharon?
