The negativity stands out because there is more positivity than there used to be.

What gets me is, as others have said, the fact that one week we'll be hailing Oscar, and the next it's all doom after one defeat. Although the negativity seems to massively outweigh the positivity at the best of times.
I said not long into the season that we will probably lose as many as we win and finish mid-table. Despite selling more than buying (something we have to do) we look certain to better that, albeit perhaps not the playoffs. You only have to look immediately around us in our own division to see fans of equally large clubs who are starting at something WAY more depressing than us (Bolton, Birmingham, Sheffield Weds), and that's completely ignoring our own very recent past and how far we've come.
I'm not saying our bleak history means we aren't allowed to want/expect more in there here and now, but a little sense of perspective would be lovely.

I just feel the club has seriously lost it's way since last Summer and Barber's almost daily e mails seem to have tailed off. We need a mishion statement now from Bloom, not Barber to say what the plan is. We are floating like a rudderless ship at the moment.

The Amex was built for Premiership football and infact European football at least that was the spin on the tours at the start. Assuming we are in the championship next season that is 4 seasons, so what is the timescale 5 seasons, 10, 20 ? The clear and present danger is that the club will not capitalise on the wave of enthusiasm and hope with incredible support at the moment and that will inevitably wain which I think will happen next season. We could be a Birmingham in 2 years getting 15000 in and that is not the game plan, certainly not what Perry said at the inquiry last year for permission to get 5000 extra seats. The plan, very much was, premiership asap.

Firstly I don't feel there is anything wrong with being positive or negative on here - isn't it what a forum is all about?
I have no problem with league position and whilst I'd love to make the play offs if it is not to be this season then so be it.
Can't agree with you that we are playing better football though (better than what?) as I think a lot (not all) of the football this season has been really dull and boring to watch. If the manager is going to be negative in team selection and tactics it isn't suprising there is negativity from the fans.
For the family I am paying £1000 a year for our season tickets and would prefer it if the football was more entertaining and represented better value for money.

I disagree. I think they are doing as well as can be expected (and think they have been hampered by having players sold and no replacements brought in), but certainly not a fantastic job. But that may be down, in part, to the fact I'm not enjoying the football as much this season and that is probably about personal preference.

Absolutely - how DARE Tony Bloom spend £140m on a new stadium and brand new academy, and continue to fund significant losses, using loans that charge no interest to the club, and equity.
I DEMAND that we get a foreign owner, who is going to spunk millions on the wages of overpaid journeymen, loan money to the club at 5% (copyright Hull City), lose £30m to get us up (copyright Cardiff and Hull) and threaten to withdraw his funding if we don't acquiesce with whatever ridiculous scheme he comes up with.

I think most fans see the big picture as being fairly rosy and are generally happy about the style of footie under Oscar but are a tad frustrated at little things like Spanish Dave seemingly being undroppable when clearly there are talents on the bench worth giving a go. I also think we are entitled to moan (a bit) if a player has a mare of a game. Plus many fans can see that small tweaks such as giving Ulloa a bit more support up front could make a difference. These are all 'fine tuning' and no reason to panic or over-react.
I actually think the Watford result was a useful reality check. We aren't a bad team but maybe expectations are a bit high especially given all the disruption we've had across the squad. I hope it will come together once everyone is available and match fit.
Off the pitch we have a fabulous set up and the Club is in great hands. Again it is frustrating that we cannot compete with certain Clubs financially - but rightly we will not put our long term future at risk. It will make success that much sweeter if we can do it 'on a budget'.
Unfortunately some fans demand instant success no matter what happens.

Absolutely right,football like all sports is about momentum.we need to get to the premier asap.the Amex effect as wonderful as the stadium is will wear off in time.the danger I see is that while the championship is a great division I don't want us to become becalmed in it.the momentum of the last few years needs to be maintained.
Negativity? Well I guess if that includes those that hope to see some progression then include me. Something isn't right and it's not to do with injuries and not to do with lack of signings.

I wouldn't say there's a lot of negativity, more a case of a lot of frustration.
Getting to the play-offs, beating Leicester and going unbeaten against QPR, Burnley, Wigan and Reading prove we're good but injuries have killed us and we sit and watch whilst other clubs flash the cash.

I always roll my eyes when you hear about teams like Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal and how their poor fans are "suffering" and in a "crisis" when they've lost 2 games in a row, and now it looks like we're beginning to get a bit like that. Think back to '97 when we were just about to lose the Goldstone, if someone came up and offered Championship football in one of the best stadiums in the land, would you have turned it down because the prospect of mid table in the second tier wasn't good enough for you? Let's try and put things into perspective, if you weren't around when we played Hereford on the last day of the season with our league status depending on one game, and nowhere to call 'home' the following season, well what we have now is like paradise compared to that. All this whinging and moaning is nothing but disrespectful to all those back then who fought for this club. Just enjoy the ride, I've been a fan of this club for 30 years and I can't think of a better time to be a Brighton fan, and I live in Devon so I get to very few games now, but right now I love our club more than ever with what we have, and what we've achieved over the last 5 years
