There’s not much more tiresome than one of those loudmouth YOU DONT MIND DO YOU MATE IM ONLY HAVING A LAUGH INNIT BANTER BANTER BANTER types, and he’s very obviously one of those. Any more than 15 mins in his company and I’d want to wring his neck. Or sprinkle rat poison in his cocaine.

Have a look at his interviews, he's far from a loudmouth character.

Personally I'd love a drink and a couple of hours with Maupay. It'd be a hell of a laugh. His banter comes across as a French James Blunt to me.

Nice comment on the Everton message board.

'Tim Howard scored the same amount of goals for Everton as Maupay, and he was our goalkeeper. Shay Given scored more goals for Everton than Maupay and he was someone else's goalkeeper.'

The fact Maupay has always been pretty decent at all his clubs except Everton says a lot….

I am, I think. Maybe I'm missing the point, but it seems like this sort of thing would carry a lot more weight from someone who'd actually achieved something meaningful?
I think that’s what I find so funny, an average player LARPing as Messi, burying anyone and everyone for laughs. I think he’s box office

If this was coming from Ronaldo or Haaland it wouldn’t be funny, but Maupay? Gold

Agreed.

FAR more interesting than the usual vanilla, dull, media-trained drone footballers who say the square root of f-all in their abject terror of ever (gulp) OFFENDING someone and being called "unprofessional". Oh, the horror.

If it winds up scouse, then I'm all in. Lovely stuff.

I couldn’t stand him and thought our fans massively overrated him, but his comment about Everton is blimmin’ hilarious.

Not just me then!
I'm not tired of him, but it's a bit of a dick move to publicly slag off your employer.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone at Everton had a look over his contract after that little comment.

There's an obligation to buy in his loan to Marseille so he won't be an Everton player next season.

Sure, but he's an Everton player NOW.

1) This doesn’t excuse his behavior.
2) I hope this obligation is correct.

Is he still a toffee? In that case that is poor behaviour from him.

But he does make me laugh.

Yes. Yes he is. Let's hope he doesn't come 'unstuck'
