There was a shipping cock up by Sony for the new slimline PS2 - British retailers were expecting a big order ('Game' stores ordered 220,000 but only received 20,000) The stores didn't bother re-ordering the old ones and now no one has any.

Found all this out while trying to get my brother one who's house bound after an op. Bloody nightmare. :nono:

I'm sure I've got an old Model 30-286 knocking around somewhere. Not sure I can find the floppies for the OS/2 SE 1.1 operating system though.

I would never have thought they'd be worth that sort of money. :jester:

Get a GameCube, it's smaller, cheaper and the games are better (although there are fewer of them).

I got one of the "older" PS2 on release day, walked out of the shop and had people offering me £1000 for it.

Only if you are so shallow that you judge a console by a single genre of game (although PES4 is excellent).

That would be like judging a woman solely because she has a great pair of tits, and ignoring her personality.

The 'Cube has some great games out at present in the form of Metroid Prime 2, Paper Mario 2, Pikmin 2 and Donkey Konga (with free Bongos!). It's a shame it does not have GTA, but is still a superb piece of kit, especially for kids, and is only £75 including a game at Amazon

my bro has the gamecube and i do like it but its a bit cartoony for me(though mario kart is good)

pro evo will get me through the whole year with ease but gta getaway etc are fantastic.

And OS/2 was a proper operating system 10 years before Windoze NT became even half-way usable for business applications.

Windows NT IS OS/2. Remember, Microsoft basically stole the VMS kernel team, and chucked Warp ontop of it. I used to use OS/2 as my sole i386 OS - when an SGI was my main workstation

I booted her up today as I'm trying to break the record for most browsers used in one day, but Warp 4.0 refused to pick up my DSL.

I've still posted from IE, Firefox on Windows, Firefox on Linux/PPC, Firefox on MacOSX, Chimera and Safari in the past 24 hours though :lolol:

I bought a PS2 in Woolworths in Exeter on Wednesday.

The console is tiny now, about the size of a DVD case. The hand controller and leads take up much more space in the box.

I will gladly listen to any £1000 offers!

Is that all.? I can beat that. I've posted from the following browsers.

Mac OS X - IE 5.2, Firefox, Opera 7.54, Safari, Camino, Mozilla
Windows - IE6, Opera 7.6 P4, Firefox, Mozilla
