I'm not surprised you're using them though.

I can imagine the trainfare to Newcastle would be ridiculous.

It's so annoying though, because aside from when you're coming back for a totally specific date, you don't know in October when you want to come back.

£10 is good though, that's more than it costs me to get back from London most of the time!

trains are just ridiculous now, i don't know how they justify the prices

with coaches you know what you're getting, you get what you pay for i suppose

i try to avoid megabus like the plague but they are SO cheap i can't see how they make any profit at all

Train fares from Mighty Seaford to Brighton during peak times actually went down this year. :thud: £9.10 for a return to £6.

well it is cheaper to get a train to Hove these days than a bus.

bus would cost me minimum £1.50, whereas a train to Hove from Brighton locations(in my case, London Road) is only £1.30, and quicker if you time it right.

How did a coach going from London Victoria to Aberdeen crash on the slip rd from the M4 to the M25?

i'm getting on a national express this sunday:(
It's still safer than most means of travel.

There are about 3.1 road deaths per billion passenger miles.

But only about 0.3 bus and coach deaths per billion passenger miles.

Which makes buses and coaches about 10 times safer than cars as a way to travel.

fair enough, but it still doesn't inspire too much confidence does it!

If you use trains regularly find the shortest distance journey in the uk, Ryde St Johns Road to Ryde Esplanade and go into your local station. DEMAND a season ticket for this journey. Once you are a season ticket holder you are then a GOLD CARD holder and entitled to a third off all train fares in the Uk (off peak). you can also upgrade to 1st class for a fiver.

You have to be a regular traveller off peak but it could be worth it.
