I can’t imagine there were many more than CH on their list and yes he’d have been the man to replace Jones without a doubt...if they could have pulled it off. They were not going to sack him for many other out of work managers though I wouldn’t have thought.

Agree, but he must be thinking of it. If Pochettino left mid season though it's only Alardyce, Pulis or Hughton who is available, and who could take on a short emergency contract until the end of season.

Chris could ''Man Manage'' any group of players. But Spurs will almost certainly appoint a Foreign Coach if Pochetino were to leave but he won't leave Spurs unless he goes to Man United or a Big Job in Spain

It wasn’t a shock; I’ve seen poor people before. I’ve also read about them in the newspapers. And there’s always some on Comic Relief. Poor people do not come as a shock.

Difficult question. Would he entertain the position on an interim 3 or 4 month basis on those circumstances ?

It's not something I have ever asked. My first thought would be Yes he might. But I don't think it would be cut and dried Yes answer. His close ties with them would make it difficult to turn down but by the same token. He would have no mandate to stamp his own authority on the team in terms of bringing in new players.

This is all hypothesis. It won't ever come to pass

I agree it will never happen, in the same way that Mourinho was a terrible fit for United and their style of football, the same is true of CH. He is nowhere near adventurous enough for the the style of football that is the “Tottenham way”...imo. Their fans would not accept sitting on 1-0 from very early in a game. Even in the Championship when we were a great team most wins involved nail biting defence in the last 20 rather than trying to kill the game. It worked here, it wouldn’t at Tottenham.

Doesn't matter what job CH is looking at, it's more relevant as to which club is looking at him, and I doubt Spurs would even consider CH on a short term basis.

But equally I think its fair to say Chris didn't believe in the offensive personnel at his disposal particularly last season, whereas Spurs have an abundance of attacking talent.

You are right though, Chris must have firmly believed that because of our excellent shape and CB's, sitting deep and absorbing pressure was the way to go. We never went for the kill, whereas of course Potter is the complete opposite.
