I remember an awful lot of concern being shown on here when he left for the manager's job at Luton on January 6th.

Only by those daft enough to be in AWE of Jonah's collection of football's equivalent of cycling proficiency badges. He was never very bright as a player. Why would he suddenly become more bright as a manager? And good luck getting many goals out of CMS

Thunder Bolt

Silly old bat
1) He may have been at training, but he was no longer 2IC.
2) As 2IC he was and must have had an input.
3) 'New manager' syndrome, we have seen it time and time again with teams in transition or under caretakers.
4) Jones was no longer in the front line, he was 3rd choice at best in terms of imparting instruction and direction.

At one game in the Amex, Jones was seen to show Hughton something on his ipad, just before a substitution. We went on to win the game. I don't think that Hughton & Calderwood were so precious, that they wouldn't be prepared to listen to another voice. I think Jones will make a good manager if he gets the time and right club. It was very fashionable to write him off as useless just 15 months ago, but don't forget that the England U21s have also used him in their coaching set up at St Georges.
