A second inspection at Leicester proved inconclusive and officials will look again at 12.30pm to see if today's meeting can go ahead.

Clerk of the course Nick Lees said: "There's just one place that is causing us some concern but everything is going to plan at the moment.

"We are still very, very hopeful of going ahead."

Tuesday's meeting at Leicester goes ahead after the track passed a 12.30pm inspection.

An initial inspection was held at 9am with temperatures falling to minus five overnight but that, and another at 11.30am, both proved inconclusive.

However, clerk of the course Nick Lees was pleased to report that the card had finally been given the all-clear, saying "Racing goes ahead."

A lot of interest in the first race at Lingfield.

oapdodge (aptly) had 13 year old Redoubtable, me, Gareth Glover, Chappers and Lord B all went with The Gay Fox, while favourite Badou was the preferred choice of Trigger, SeagullinKent and nail-Z-gull. Ernest went for the un-named favourite.

And the old-timer went from last to first to win it at a very decent price!
