Stan had a bit of a boom after the Eminem song

Amongst parents who didn't listen to the lyrics I take it

Naming your son after some sort of closet case murderer with an obsessive personality isn't a good start in life.

The top boys names in 2010. Alfie made number three, but there are plenty of good solid boys names in there.

1. Jack
2. Harry
3. Alfie
4. Thomas
5. Oliver
6. Daniel
7. Joshua
8. Charlie
9. Mohammed
10. George
11. Lewis
12. Dylan
13. William
14. Samuel
15. Ethan
16. Ben
17. Alexander

If that's an authentic list, no-one has commented on the name at number 9. I'm saying nothing.

I believe Mohammed is actually the most popular boys name in the world.

Whats happened to good old David? Been popular for millenia but seems to have faded big time, im going to sound like a right old grandad with an extinct name before long. My age group at school, there were loads of Davids, loads i tell you, maybe its the whole negative sounding aspect of dave. How many names have a tv station named after them tho hey!

Paul

Conversely names that have cropped up more than once in their school that I never knew anyone called:
