I used to pronounce it that way, but at some point - in the 90s I think - more people started saying scone, so I went along with it too.

Yeah the Ike Athens thing is wierd. I assume Milan will also now be known as Ac Milan rather than A C Milan.

The Indian government are pushing to change the country’s name to Bharat. Which apparently will mean Pakistan will want to change to India. That won’t be confusing at all!
