They have reached the semi-finals of the Champions League and finished runner-up in their national league, but the only trophy they've won in their entire history was one for winning their country's 4th division 35 years or so ago.

Who are they?

Hmmm, have a guess
Ballacks!

Bayer were the 1st finalists (they lost) not to have won the domestic league, but that's not all:
As a footnote, that defeat capped off a thoroughly unfortuitous season for Bayer Leverkusen. They first surrendered the German league title in the last game of the season, then lost the European Cup final, finally conceding the German Cup final to achieve an unenviable runners-up treble. And to add insult to injury, some of that side (including midfield star Michael Ballack) then went on to lose the 2002 FIFA World Cup Final with Germany that summer.

Shame for Ballack eh? Only won a League Cup since.

Name 4 teams out of the 92 in England (Premiership, Championship and Divisions 1-2), who start with the same letter that they end with?

Not a former player but Ryan Giggs.

England schoolboys but went on to play for Wales against England. Has captained Man Utd.
