Is the correct answer ridda, yes he was well impressive, think he was on either Millwall or West Ham's books or trialed for one of them.
Also remember Jimmy Greaves playing in a Testimonial at The Goldstone but cannot remember what the game was for.
It was the Joe Kinnear testamonial, but although in the programme...which I have somewhere he did not play.

The game against Chelsea - Was that the one which was a joint testimonial for Norman Gall & Brian Powney? I have the programme buried away somewhere. I don't remember Tommy Steele playing but I wasn't that old at the time & don't remember much of the game.

One for the oldies - Who was the comedian who kitted up and lead out the Albion in the mid fifties at the Goldstone vs Gillingham?

Norman Wisdom?

There was also a game played at the dog track for these two players in aid of their testimonial fund against a Jimmy Hill X1 played on the 16th May 1971.
Jimmy hills team according to the programme included Don Howe,Dave Sexton,Billy Wright,Bobby Robson and Jimmy the chin Hill himself. Named as a substitute was H.Rednapp !

Got me started now!
Powney and Gall did have a joint testimonial against Chelsea (no mention of Mr Steele in the programme) and strangely a further game against Wolves,in addition to the Jimmy Hill game mentioned previously.
That's three games that I know about for these two,how many testimonial games do these guys want ?
