Assistant manager (Tarricco) comes out of retirement after six years to play for us, but gets sent off on his debut. He soon goes on to retire from playing again, only to come out of retirement again the following season, but then gets sent off for us in his first game back.

In 1983 the Argus featured a team photo, however as it was originally in the yellow away kit they took an artist to it who inked over it in blue even painting on a badge and white Adidas stripes, it went to publication hoping nobody would notice.

Team photo with meat and two veg on display must be quite unique as well.

3 May 1997. Two bottom placed teams playing each other for survival - one of them must drop. Wouldn't believe it if it were a script for a film or book.
It’s not the only time that’s happened, is it? I don’t recall the opponents, but didn’t Carlisle have a similar escape but with an injury time goal by an on loan goalkeeper (Jimmy Glass)?

Or did I dream all that and / or remember incorrectly?

The brother of @hans kraay fan club iirc came onto the pitch and kicked the ball to our goalie. He was a ballboy at the time. It was in front of the north at the Goldstone. The players stood and looked at the ref not knowing what to do. Dave Beasant was our keeper at the time I believe and ironically we were playing Wimbledon.

I may have got some of the details wrong, it was a long time ago!
