RS moved to Crawley when he was 6. I know folk who remember him at school.

Robert Smith was born in Blackpool, moved to Horley and then to Crawley aged 6. The Cure are a Sussex band as formed in Crawley.Smith is from Crawley - and a QPR fan. He was probably born in Redhill (East Surrey hospital)?

I was support disco at a wedding in Rodmell back around 2002. Initial thoughts were 'oh my god' but they put on a show that had the entire floor full. Great guys and really friendly. They done the wedding as a favour because they lived locally. Dec still lives in Eastbourne.

He is buried in Lancing cemetery.
