as nsc was down on tuesday night i thought i'd put a bit on about swansea

players come out on all come straight over to the away fans and we all had a lovin which was a nice touch seemed to be lead over by fraser.they started of brightly looking like they meant buisness and apart from a couple of poor balls in midfield by fraser i thought were unlucky to go behind.swansea missed a couple of sitters after that 1 from about 3 yards out with michel no where but we had chances to without troubling the keeper. In the 2nd half coxy saw alot of the ball in the hole but we never really get the right ball in to the strikers apart from once when nicky looked like he was away but great defending from the centre half stopped him and a great ball from sammy rents for coxy which he put straight at the keeper when through.but the passion was there and it was an improvement on saturday even if we didn't really look like we were gonna score

kuipers 6 - steady
fogden 6 - looked at home, couple of iffy mopments but generally did ok
lynch 6 - defended ok against a tricky winger in anderson, but the goal still come from a cross on the side and was poor going forward
el abd 6 - did ok
elphick 6 - not as dominant as he has been
lofty 5 - started off brightly but disapeared after about 15 mins and struggled after that
fraser 5 - gave possesion awa, needed some experience alongside him
martot 5 - still dont see what he gives to the side
coxy 7 - chatting to a swansea fan on the train who was really impressed with both coxy and us,plenty of possesion in the hole and looked very busy MOM
alex 6- had chances to increasehis run but took them a bit quick
forster 5 - subdued performance from nicky

subs
harty 5- got a great reception but hardly touched the ball
rents 6 - did ok one great ball for coxy
elder 5 - only on for a matter of minutes

I posted this on the BOMB website:

We did alright tonight. Swansea were very good and we were beaten by the better team.

It wasn't the best start in any sence, as the kids and me got a soaking walking from the car to the ground, then Swansea scored on their first attack, a cross from the lively spanish number 10 finished by the Scottish Darryl Duffy...it was going to be a long night!!! However, the 110 hardy souls from the south (hats off to them...Brighton to Swansea is about 6 hours, and for a crappy cup competition to boot) were treated to a determined display from the blue meanies with some really good moments.

I understand that we had quite a few out with illness added to injuries which led to the team being:

Kuipers, Fogden, Elphick, El-Abd, Lynch, Martot, Forster, Loft, Cox, Revell, Fraser.

The main plus of the night was that we kept trying, despite everything, against the team who will win our league...get your bets on quick, and if this spirit of determination remains (with a few new faces to the squad added) we'll easily hold our own in this division.

Kuipers...7...typical Kuipers under seige type display, point blank saves and some decent distribution. No chance with the goal.

Fogden...7...little skinny lad up against the Pele of our division (Orlandi) who was caught out alot less than he maybe should have been...which was good. His rain soaked shirt must have doubled his weight!

Elphick...6...Did alright without being back to his excellent best, but its another game under his belt after his op, so it was a worthwhile run out for him.

El-Abd...7...Good tackeling and not a single back pass, booked early which maybe reigned his enthusiasm back a bit, Solid enough though,

Lynch...6...At left back, even ventured forward a couple of times but I don't think he'll be the next Lawrenson for us. Injured late on,I don't think we'll see him on Saturday.

Martot...6...ran about a bit, did some passes and tackled some Swansea players.

Fraser...7...Good lad isn't he. 50/50 and BANG 'get in there'. It was difficult tonight, he was against a very good midfield but he was competitive altough sometimes caught out of position.

Loft...5...Enthusiastic

Cox...6...Frustrating. He has the skill, pace and aggression to be a right pain in the arse to the opposition, so where does he go for 3/4 of the match. For 10 minutes he ran that game, if he could be a bit more consistant we'd have a prem player on our books.

Forster...6...Lack of service meant a quiet night for the grumpy old git, but you've always got a chance when he's playing. Respect.

Revell...6...No real service but was trying really hard. His orange face lit up a wet welsh night.

The biggest cheer was reserved for Gary Hart's 80th minute introduction. The bloke is a hero. He didn't get a touch!

What I find funny is that They said we had 110 fans there. From where I was sitting it looked no more than about 70-80. We did our best though in terms of noise. It wasnt the hammering people thought. I thought Kuipers pulled off 3 great saves in the 2nd half.

you must have a trained eye to be able to differentiate a whole 30 fans out of the official attendance or are you just trying to let us know you went to the game?
