Wouldn't happen in France................did away with road tax years ago.

I often see cars near my house with a fetching yellow boot. The only surprise is the fact that most of the cars are quite classy. Not many old bangers get done and I find it odd that if you can afford to insure and fill the tank of a gas guzzling 4x4 but you can't afford road tax?

Missed mine a couple of years back having bought a nearly new car which came with 6 months road tax. Didn't get a reminder as they hadn't processed the vehicle ownership change either. First I heard of it was when they sent me a demand for payment and notification of a fine.

You're f***ing lucky. I forgot to tax mine as I never got any reminders and within THREE WEEKS of it expiring my car had been towed away and scrapped. First I knew about it was when I phoned the police to report it stolen.

Absolutely f***ing livid at the DVLA for destroying my beautiful, well kept, low-mileage beloved motor. It was still worth money. Why destroy it?
