I think they are leaving it to the very last minute because they want the world (ie NIMBYS) to see that every conceivable measure has been taken and every angle has been looked at - thus lessening the chances of any judicial review, should the NIMBYs be mad enough to sue the Government.

I hope that's what it is anyway.
I can't see any other reason.

After more than 10 years I suppose a few days doesn't make much difference..

THOUGH IT BLOODY FEELS LIKE IT DOES!

Or it could be Prescott has not even looked at it yet :p :lolol:

They tossed the coin. Heads - YES. Tails - NO.

But it rolled under the table and they can't find it.

Gordon Brown won't increase taxes to let them get their hands on another coin. And the House of Commons Treasury Committee hasn't yet completed its investigation into the scandal of missing funds at the ODPM.

This and final legal advice/documentation have to be the reason.

Prescott has been out on his travels for the past week. Prehaps he needed to be back in London to sign it off before it can be released? I guess he will have the final say as he is in charge and ultimatley responsible for all the decisions made by his team.

It could go into the second day of Injury Time. I hope it is in 2005.

I've got a feeling that they will find a way to extend the deadline - so that we have to make a big pie for prescott as a final campaign push

Of course the decision will have already been taken, probably weeks ago. The reason we haven't heard anything is, I think, down to the Department, checking and re-checking with the lawyers and political advisors.

1) Is this going to have any national implications, if we say YES. If so what are they? Is it going to cause trouble down the line?

2) If we do say YES could our decision be taken to judicial review?

These wil be considered very carefully. Lawyers are cautious creatures and they like to take their time.

We'll know soon enough.
