My take on yesterday's game.

I endured a 700-mile round trip and shelled out £100 to get to the game yesterday and I feel like the players let everyone down.

The performance was DEVOID of COMMITMENT, DRIVE and PASSION. The way some of the players ran around yesterday you would have thought that we were in mid-table and not a relegation dogfight. I thought Jarrett was particularly guilty in this respect although you could include Davies as well but at least he held the ball up pretty well.

The new loanees performed well, although the new keepers' kicking is AWFUL. Is it some sort of rule that we are only allowed to sign keepers with DIABOLICAL kicking?

Heath, Bangura and Lloyd all played well and look like they might give us a chance of staying up, although personally I think yesterday's result will be the killer.

Andy Whing seemed like the only guy who actually GAVE A SHIT yesterday, if only we had 10 others like him we might not be in this mess.

Giving a shit is one thing....but having some ability is another. We have some really rubbish footballers in the squad at present. How many have real ability, skill and talent?

Apart from your observation on the keepers kicking (which was woeful), I completely disagree. There was no lack of effort from the players. We dominated possession for long spells, Davies worked tirelessly running the channels, Heath and El Abd got their heads on almost everything, Whing and Borrowdale got forward, Bangura hustled and bustled, Owusu won loads of flick-ons and held things up, mcLeod got the crosses over.

No we wern't "brilliant", but I came away feeling we'd been well and truley robbed. Amazed that some folk on here think the team didn't put the effort in today, I really didn't see it like that at all.

Don't think I disagree with any of that. Jarrett has been a disgrace the last few games, his heart just isn't in it.

I think the long journey may have tempered my assessment slightly but I felt that many players' hearts weren't in it.

Its a devastating, disastrous result, but personally I couldn't fault the team for effort. We just lacked that bit of quality at the vital moments (Davies being the main culprit again unfortunately). I think the only player who had an out and out stinker was Jarrett though, he really was piss poor all afternoon.

A win on Tuesday though, and we're back in the game. COME ON !

I agree. We were the only ones with any idea where the goal was in the first half and, until their penalty, Orient had no shots on target. They started the second half brightly but that had died out by the middle of the half. We were the only ones that wanted the win and were done by a very good goal that would have beaten most sides.

If we can build on that we have a chance - but we mustn't let our heads drop.

Easy you are spot on mate. We were excellent at times but had no luck. things seem to be conspiring against us at the moment. At times we need to be tighter at the back and make better decisions- that is all. Also we do lack a bit of quality. That man could be Bangura. He was excellent. I could not believe some of the fucktards on here saying that he faded badly yesterday. Erm yes hello he is not match fit and has been playing reserve football at Watford.

1) If you think that was excellent then you're probably one of those delluded into thinking we could still make a charge for the play-offs!

2) yes, he is not match fit and has been playing reserve football which is WHY he faded badly!

At no point yesterday did I think we were going to lose, until they got that wondergoal. As the commentator said on the championship this morning, "You don't get the breaks at the bottom!"

The Orient fans we spoke to after game thought we'd played well and that we'd get out of the bottom 4. Not 100% convinced myself but we live in hope!

It was excellent as far as recent performances have concerned. IMHO one of the better ones this season

I thought Bangura had a good game, he did exactly what he said he would in his interview, sat in front of the back four and broke up the play.
The problem yesterday was the lack of options when the players in the middle had the ball, we just weren't very dynamic going forward and I put that down to the wingers more than anything. Fraser was poor because he's not a winger, the difference carole made when he came on was immense.
On the other side McLeod saw alot of the ball but invariably wasted it. Our attacks resembled park football at times, Davies ran around alot and I give him 10/10 for effort but he just didn't get in very good positions.
I'm hoping that this is what Slade is going to sort out, I want to see players making intelligent runs off the ball and opening up space for others, not just running forwards in a straight line or standing still like they were yesterday. I also think that has alot to do with the fact there were so many new players in the team, they just hadn't had time to gel yet.

I said to my brother at the game yesterday it was like watching Brightons version of Claude Makelele.

It was bad enough on the journey back to Brighton, I think their was plenty of promise and yesterday showed Slade what he has got to work with. The result was a hard one to swallow as we were good enough on play for a draw, however I felt the fans did us proud yesterday, lets hope Slade can pick them up for Tuesday and the players can reward you with a win.

Agreed, effort was there and we played particularly well first half. Penalty changed everything and we completely lost our way second half, but Orient did nothing to deserve the win IMO.

I think thats a very reasonable assessment.
