I can't believe how many people actually like having their ears syringed, don't knock it till you've tried it I guess!

The last time I had a problem with ear wax my doctor advised me to put drops of warm olive oil in my ears, It cleared the problem up without the need for syringing.

I've also heard that warm olive oil is a winner.

It may sound ridiculous, but try wearing earplugs when having a shower, as I reckon getting water into the ear canal can exacerbate any ear-mentalness.

I had labyrinthitis a couple of years back. Bloody awful it was - like being absolutely hammered without any of the fun bits! I seemed to get worse attacks after a shower, hence I thought I'd try the earplugs and it did seem to help.

Oh yes, within seconds there was a massive improvement. Now my right ear is better than my left. I would highly recommend it to anyone having any ear wax issues,I was being a complete pussy about it all and tbh it really was fine :D

Have you tried those cones you put in your ear & light the top of? They're pretty good, as they smoulder down they draw all the wax up leaving you feeling lighter in the head. Get them at most chemists. Recommended. Otherwise the olive or caster oil (warmed) is good at shifting the yuk out but I find the top of a bic pen better than cotton wool buds as you can scrape all the yuk out. I once got a Murray Mint out of my ear this way. ( Obviously not a real murray mint but it sure looked like!)

lol, a bic pen or a candle....think I would just opt for the syringe again as it really wasn't all that bad! Did you eat the murray mint?
