OK, I know the whole idea of changing allegiance leaves some people cold. However, I found out today that one of my nephews (aged 12) has converted from Chelsea to the Albion!

He lives near Petersfield, and has been brought up in a Chelsea supporting household. However, he saw the Albion a couple of times last season, and has seen us on Sky three times this season. I also bought him a Brighton shirt about three years ago in an attempt to make him see the light.

And now it's happened! I will bring him to the Amex some time soon!!

Great news, I had a father and his 2 sons come into work who grew up in London and support Spurs but wanted Albion shirts as they live down here now :)

What kids need to understand is winning isn't everything when choosing who you support! It's about seeing your team for real, being at the stadium, seeing the other passionate fans, talking about your team, wearing their shirt, being proud of who you support, maybe where you come from. No one south of Croydon should be supporting Chelsea, arsenal, spurs etc unless you were bought up in London/ family links. There's Crawley and Brighton to support and god forbid palarse. Sky has really brainwashed kids these days. With the amount of air time man u, Chelsea, city, arsenal, spurs, Liverpool get it's no wonder why so many fake/armchair fans choose to support them! Get the kids supporting Brighton at a young age and they will never change! Make them understand what supporting a team really is! Watching a big club on sky regularly just because they win more than they lose is not supporting a team!

Let's hope we see more kids in the stripes!!

Remember when I first started going to the Goldstone in the mid 70s. Chock a block full of kids including me.

Archer, Stanley and Belotti have a lot to answer for, but thanks to Mr Bloom and co the good times are coming back.

I was about 5 or 6 and supported Liverpool (the done thing in the 70s) then Saint's (through a mate & they were quite good early 80s) recalled watching Albion vs Swansea 1981 from the East Terrace and cried when we lost 1-2 (well i was only 8)....................came back to support Brighton from late 1987 & proper in 1988

My son said to me yesterday.

"Dad, Did West Ham beat Brighton?"
"fraid so" i said 'we are on a poor run of it"
he thought for a moment and said "so who are we going to support now?"

needless to say we had a long talk about loyalty and why we support a team. Unfortunately he has grown up with too much success here in Geelong with our AFL team. He takes success for granted.....careful Man United fans.
