Heyy! I'm Ondra, 30y from Czech republic. I've been following Brighton for a few years now and now I finally decided to give myself a Christmas treat and bought ticket to Friday match against Brentford! It will be my first time in the city and I'm very excited about the first visit and to see Seagulls at Amex and feel the atmosphere.

So I just wanted to ask if you could recommend me any pub/club around Amex where I can sit before the match and have a pint and meet some local fans? My tickets are to West upper D if anyone's around by any chance.

And also if you can tell me which chants I should take a look at and try to remember? Except for Sussex by the sea, I already know about that.

Cheers!
Ondra

There is only one pub near the Amex - the Swan in Falmer village. Fans tend to meet in the pubs near Brighton Station before travelling to the game - particularly the Prince Albert and the Evening Star.

Have a fantastic time Ondra! Recommend you go to the Prince Albert pub before the game. It's only a 2 minute walk from Brighton station. Great beers, great atmosphere, iconic pub. Don't forget that your match ticket gives you free transport to and from the game. Enjoy!

I understand loitering in the aisles is wrong and should not be done for any circumstance.

Do not sing "dir, dir, dir, dir, dir" during the playing of Good Ol' Sussex By the Sea even if you don't know the words..

Leaving your seat and walking toward an exit any time before the final whistle is blown is a huge sin.

Make sure not to have any bottle tops on your person at any time you are within the Amex.

Do not sit patiently waiting for the football action. You must make some kind of noise at all times to help the stadium atmosphere. It is currently at an unacceptable level.

Do not use a drum in an effort to contribute to the stadium atmosphere.

What have I forgotten forgot?

Welcome, I visited Prague a couple of weeks ago and went to see Sparta v Bohemians, can you please teach English fans how to make an atmosphere while you are here.

Sorry no beer on terraces and it's bloody expensive compared to your matches

I’m interested to know how a Czech fan has got into supporting BHA. Anything to do with Skalak? He wasn’t here that long, but, in my opinion, can lay claim to scoring the best thunderbastard goal in the Amex’s 13 seasons so far.
I'm a bit new fan to remember Skalák in BHA. I do know about him though. The story is quite simple, I was watching premier league as a whole product, tried to see most matches, statistics, fantasy, played Fifa FUT with only premier league players etc...I had my favourites in relegation battles/top 6/top4/title battles but I haven't had my own ONE team to support. But I always knew that I won't end up with anyone from the big 6 - idk it felt weird/too easy for me to choose a big team and not being born into it.

Few years ago, Brighton football with Potter really caught my eye with their football approach and mainly transfer politics and I started to watch them a bit more and pretty soon I knew seagulls are the ONE team to support. I've found out something about the city also and I've felt that it might be very close with my moral values. So I also thought it's gonna be great to visit Brighton not only for the match but also the city itself.

So that's how I became a seagulls fan. I'm a late bloomer and maybe it's a bit plastic, but I love it now and there's so much more emotion in it now for me! Can't wait to express myself fully on the stadium! I was already at TOT vs BRI in London in February but I was in home sector so I couldn't really express my joy when we scored 😀

That was a good derby match to choose! I bet the atmosphere was great. I do actually support Bohemians here in Prague. football is kinda sh*te but they're very close to my heart.

Well I was actually surprised how relatively cheap tickets were - I saw a lot for 33£ but in the end I bought one for 40£. I was expecting it to be more expensive. But yeah it's much cheaper here in czech - especially the beer!

That's great! Thanks for the tip. Seems like I'll try to have one or two pints before the game at Prince Albert.

I didn't know about that free transportation though! Thanks! Is there a special bus or something? And does it work with ticket in the Google wallet?
