All this hate on the guy exposing fraud. I hear Stonewall UK is going to halve its staff as the money from USAID has stopped flowing since this Democrat slush fund got shut down.

Don't worry, Elon's contract expires next July so then you will have to find someone else to hate on.
It’s things like the US government funding a UK charity (even if it’s doing good things in Eastern Europe) that gives oxygen to Trump, and which helped him get elected in the first place.

Sometimes I struggle to understand how tribalism eradicates all sanity.

Ok, I get you're in the alt right bubble. I don't judge you; we're all in some kind of bubble or another.

But does this mean you automatically need to defend every person, every word and every decision made by every individual in your bubble?

One of my (leftist, like me) mates was exactly like that. When we'd end up in political discussions with strangers in the pub I would always think "please don't say it, please don't say it..."

Five minutes later he says: "I think Stalin was misunderstood..."

And I'm like... why? WHY would you undermine your own political views through rooting and defending some twat powerful billionare who quite clearly really don't give a f*** about anyone but himself.

Of course there's fraud in USAID, of course there's endless rotten shit in the American system. But you have to COMPLETELY ignore everything else if you think Elon Musk is on some sort of altruistic journey for world peace & prosperity.

It's a shame that the funding Stonewall got has been cut (USAid was not half their income as your post gives the impression). Most was used for advocacy work abroad. As in trying to support gay people who get the crap beaten out of them in Eastern Europe for just being gay.

Do you think it's good that organisations try to support those folk ?
Not with other peoples money, in secret, and money cant stop prejudice laws do that its for promotion.

I once saw people from Yandex present at a digital conference in the UK about their data tracking platform (equivalent to Google Analytics). It was genuinely disturbing. Google isn’t great in that regard but they at least respect privacy to some degree. Yandex very obviously didn’t give a shit.

Er yes it is.

Yandex LLC (Russian: Яндекс, romanized: Yandeks, IPA: [ˈjandəks]) is a Russian technology company that provides Internet-related products and services including a web browser, search engine, cloud computing, web mapping, online food ordering, streaming media, online shopping, and a ridesharing company.

No it isn't. If the issue is Russia I wouldn't use it, neither linked to Russian sites. The same way I would not go to the Guardian if the issue was "what is wrong with the left", who have to pay out a massive lump for libel yesterday to Douglas Murrey.

This is how critical thinking works.
