Oh my word this is being an excellent year already!

British Sea Power - surpasses all they have done before. Outrageous good album.
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - MC5 meats (sic) Oasis, coolness quotient while pleasingly unassuming. Ace album.
Grande Roses - Biff bang pow from Sweden, super record. Every track a winner!
Wire - They are identifiable in their style, vital music still if not more than ever
Ducktails - jingle jangles my morning with tasty silverplated chords, vocal and guitar c(h)ords
I Are Droid - cool 3-piece. Not minimal like the sleeve. Like!
The Black Angels - Pixified Magic Numbering, rocking up a nice record.

Also interesting are;
Unknown Mortal Orchestra - though I wish their album was all as great as the second track. It might be a grower as a whole so I'll listen some more.
One half of French techno band 'Air' has a decent new recording... very pop, but quality pop.
Ghost - like Sabbath meets Dead Can Dance and DMode, this bloke is probably going to be huge.

Boring By Sea
Machineries Of Joy is indeed growing on me. Not better than Decline or DYLRM though. Going to see them play in Portsmouth on Monday and saw them in Hove a few weeks back.
Unknown Mortal Orchestra playing at Great Escape and hoping to see them there.

I can't remember a time for a while that has had so many exciting releases (for my tastes) in such a short period. All out very recently or coming up very soon are:

Kurt Vile - Walkin on a Pretty Daze
The Flaming Lips - The Terror
James Blake - Overgrown
The Knife - Shaking the Habitual
Suede - Bloodsports
Deerhunter - Monomania
The National - Trouble Will Find Me
Neon Neon - Praxis Makes Perfect

and probably loads more. Mind you, that's not to say these are/ are going to be any good!

No idea about when released, but also heard White Denim 'D', and some tracks by Weeping Willows that I like a lot. More to investigate!
