Dissapointing - I was looking forward to sitting on Mushy.....

Unfortunately and sadly, I guessed to a fairly close degree that that was going to be your response, Dave. You always seem to know someone who knows someone. Good for you. Whereas in this case, I have had several dealings with the person in question.Dies Irae said:as I know people who work for him in the office and on the busses, we will have to agree to disagree on that one Al......in fact like most things.
I'd say that makes you an uberSINATRA fanThe Large One said:then do be it...that makes me an überbusfan?
Hang on a minute, you said just now they were going to make a fortune out of the stadium runs. Now you're making out that they are only involved in the project because to not do so would have been bad PR? Has it occurred to you that both scenarios are correct and are good for business? What is your problem with that?Benny Zamora said:"Yes, thanks for supporting the stadium, you could have made yourselves incredibly unpopular and lost millions of pounds by going against it."
I, on the other hand, find the buses across the city pretty good, prompt, reliable and convenient. The only downside is the cost. And I ignore the ads, but if people did adhere to them, traffic in the city would be far better.Benny Zamora said:The service is about as reliable as a jonny made of tracing paper. It's weird how costs have risen before nine in the morning. Oop north you can do five mile bus journeys for a quid and inner city journeys are 60p. What pisses me off most (apart from them not giving bowling bowling Mushy a bus) is how their arrogant advertising bangs on about how much better getting the bus is than getting a car, but the buses are so shite there are days when no amount of money saved would stop you using the car instead.

That's not arrogance, it's the bleeding obvious.
The bit about politeness was a excessive sense of concern that someone not too bright might put 'do what we want or else, you f***ing wanker...', without realising they weren't writing to Norman Baker. But on balance you're right, I shouldn't have put it, really.Benny Zamora said:Well, I suppose I do have a slight problem with the insincerity of it all cockle. But what I was really trying to say was that your suggestion we owe them politeness for supporting the stadium is a bit silly, seeing as it was a PR and financial no-brainer for them (you hit the nail on the head there.)
I've nicked this data from my work: it's traded northwest European diesel cargo prices - start from the bottom. Now then, why are bus fares going up YET again?Benny Zamora said:
"Thanks for your support. Petrol prices really do go up once a month, honest!"

He has a business to run, and does it pretty well. I don't agree with the constant price hikes, but if it means him behaving like a scheister (I didn't say hew wasn't - I said Go Ahead were the real issue here) in order to get a good bus service to run across the city, then do be it.
Does one suppose that makes me an überbusfan?
We get on BRILLIANTLY on here. Wanker.Dies Irae said:It comes with working in the accountancy profession in Brighton for so many years, and being a member of The Federation of Sussex Industries, Sussex Enterprise etc etc...Sussex businessmen tend to know everyone and you would be surprised just how incestuous the finance departments of sussex firms really are...
It does strike me as odd that although we do get extremely well on face to face, we also disagree on almost every thing that each of us posts on here.
I suppose that is what makes the world such a wonderful place

Dies Irae said:Yes because they stand to make shed loads of money bussing fans to the stadium.
In Rome, you pay 1 Euro ( 68p) for 75 minutes on a bus to go anywhere in the City. In Brighton and Hove, you pay £1.80 to get on a bus....its shit and its all French's money grabbing fault.
I couldnt give a toss if he supports Falmer, he is a shyster
