If true, I hope that's the last we see of him in a Brighton shirt.

In any case we have the resources to buy better.

Exactly.

Absolutely no sources or substance, and the use of the phrase "League One Berbatov" says it all.

Maybe... but it's got the byline of Graeme Bailey, who is clearly a professional journalist with Sky and it's on his Twitter account. I'd be surprised if he would jeopardise his professional reputation on a wind-up. As with all these stories it may not be true, obviously, but it won't be based on nothing at all.

EDIT: Beaten to it by Crasher and Oscar...

The club must surely put a response out about this rumour - at least through the Argus. Naylor will be on the case as we speak.

Naylor yesterday on his Q&A seemed pretty confident Murray would sign the deal and going on what Murray has said about playing at the AMEX next season it would be a bit of a shock to say the least

Agent talk and leveraging his contract offer here IMO, Sky sources are nearly always agents who have their own agenda.

The phrase " SkySports.com understands " = Let's make something up so that loads of people click on our website and view the advertisments ............

But then some people will believe anything they read on the internet 'cos it must be true, mustn't it ............

I agree, but equally without naming any specific sources and just constantly saying "skysports.com understands", he hasn't libelled anyone, and can easily claim that he had reason to write the story. I have no idea how much journos are checked up on in this situation, and whether they are allowed to keep "sources" secret, but if Sky's attitude to the accuracy of lower league reporting on their website is anything like it is on SSN, I wouldn't be surprised if its not top of his editor's agenda.

Well, until we hear something official, we should all chill out.

However, if there is a shred of truth to it, I for one would rather not see Murray in an Albion shirt again.

It most DEFINITELY was not.

ah. sorry WJ :)

agree with the comment above that Naylor was quite positive yesterday that Murray would stay. No disrespect to you WJ but if you heard the rumour on Monday then it would be a bit surprising if he hadn't and yet he said he thought he would stay. Is he maybe too close to the club?

Clutching at straws I think but hey ho...............................
