Just got back from work....wow what a thread.

My take is that this is agent talk. The timing, the team chosen as the destination (Palace, do me a favour :lolol: ) and the lack of any quotes from anyone makes me believe that this is all BS.

I can't believe this has had over 300 replies.

Murray won't sign for Palace nor Albion. He will head North to keep Mrs Murray happy. Fact.

Probably.

If Murray leaves, which wouldn't suprise me at all, I have absolute confidence in Gus and Tony to find us an excellent replacement. Genuinly not bothered what the outcome of his contract situation is.

Bollocks or not, either SSN or South London News has got it wrong. More likely to be SSN, in which case it's a big gaffe because it involves local rivals, so the SSN newdesk won't be happy.

I reiterate, what the f*** is Murray's agent doing with 5 matches still to go? Some sort of statement from the player is required.

Yep, although if someone in his camp is leaking untrue Palace stories - I'm disliking him more by the minute.

Doing his job is what I suspect his agent is doing, ie trying to get the best deal for his client, not the best deal for BHA. That is football.

Yeah but there's ways of going about it. No one would blame the agent for sounding out all Championship clubs to see who's interested in Murray and what kind of wage they'd be prepared to pay. But leaking the "fact" that he's off to Palace as a kind of negotiating tactic (if that's what happened) is stupid. A good agent would know that as well as money, keeping their player's image up and stress levels down is part of his job.

This and the quote from the South London News are my two favourite posts on the matter :)

Everyone's blaming the agent but we don't know what really happened - the agent may have even suggested the possibility - part of his job to get interest in his player - and some idiot reporter twisted it to mean he's definitely going there. Either way, Murray's our player and until he actually signs a contract for another team, he will get my full support, and should get all of everyone on here's support too.

My view on this having heard it on Radio Sussex during the Danny Pike show incidentally said theyw ere unable to confirm the rumopur or otherwise is that if it is true it is because either he or Gus do not believe that he will be so lethal in The Championship. I would expect Gus to sign either him or somebody as good if not better especially if we are to believe the TB quote that they are going for a top 6 finish next season.

Top post. Glen has deliverd when the chips are down and he is looking for a new contract. When he is in his comfort zone does he really cut the mustard?

He has been fairly consistent since day 1. He is now our most complete and important player. I really don't think he is suddenly going to put in less effort when he is signed up to a new contract.
