Why such confidence? Refresh your memory of Palarse's final league position from the last couple of years. Yes, we WERE in league one but we aren't now and unless something goes really wrong it shouldnt be too difficult beating the pikey relegation fodder that CPFC.

I think that it's based on the theory that as CPFC2010 can actually pay players on time they'll get a better performance out of them.

Given the problems between Murray and Wilkins when he first arrived, is that likely?

If he's going to start club-hunting on the basis of avoiding anyone anywhere who might potentially upset his ever-so sensitive little sensibilities, either now or in the future, then this process could prove far more entertaining - and longer - than I thought.

I would love it, just love it, if he ended up a a club full of rampant egos in the dressing room, stupidly-high expectations from a load of perma-thick fans, and teacups being thrown around during every HT by some risible cloth-headed neanderthal moron with zero tactical awareness and even less tact and diplomacy bellowing at him to "get f***ing stuck in or f*** off", while little Glenda starts crying in the corner. So, let's hope he does end up at Southampton then.

Sad it's come to this,BUT bottom line is that Glenn's desire for money is the over riding factor. Obviously this isn't a step up for him as a player, anything but. As much as we would like him to stay on & be part of an exiting new era,he clearly doesn't want to be any part of it. Let him go,if he doesn't want to be here. And well done for the board for not giving into his agents greedy demands. Interesting that no bigger/better clubs were also interested, just Palace & Millwall. His agent has done him proud really, but you have to laugh at CP given the recent financial problems they've had, only for them to offer someone unproven(at this level) £10k a week!?

To be fair, you're already shit. If you're playing with 10 men all season, relegation is a done deal.

You're rather optimistic with that line-up.

I'd be very surprised to see Ambrose and Clyne turn out for P****e against us at Falmer next season - and given how much they're willing to throw at players to make them play for them, it still wouldn't surprise me if there's a twist to the tale and SCC pinch Murray from your hands at the eleventh hour either.

speroni Good, erratic
clyne OK, not better than what we have
mccarthy reliable enough for an old hoofer - You defensive has been shit this season
moxey runs around but adds nothing, flatters to deceive
marrow played just four games for you this year and is infact shit
ambrose A good lump, added a stunning 7 goals to your campaign
zaha 41 appearances, 1 goal - sadly your best player. 18 and on to better things

relegation dog fight ! think not !

Taking out the players you don't actually have yet..

Isn't Ambrose on his way? And bar Murray (and Vaughan?) isn't that pretty much the same team that you had an incredible season with?

Typical deluded Palace supporters, remember the 'Team of the 80's'.

IF Murray signs he will improve them, but Ambrose will be gone and given the 3 teams coming up are at least on a par with last years promoted teams, I suspect it will be another long season.

£50 to the REMF says Brighton finish higher than you.

Leeds, Millwall, Norwich, Swansea, Nottm For ALL recently promoted from league 1, ALL better than you. Underestimate the standard in league 1 all you like, but you better hope you dont end up there, as Leeds, Forest, Southampton, Sheff Wed oh yes and Brighton all found out, getting back out is anything but a walk in the park.

Somebody should remind the Croydon Crap that we beat two Championship sides quite easily last season the the FA Cup, worth noting that they both finished far higher up than Palarse did. Unlike Palace we've already started our team strengthening.

As we've pulled out and other clubs have also, surely Palace can now revise their offer at a lower rate. Murray's agent may have cooked his goose in trying to play one club off against another.

Just reading the Croydon Advertiser and it seems likely that Palace can't afford Gardner, Vaughan or Murray!

That team is looking a bit thin on the ground don't you think?

How long before Clyne, Ambrose and Speroni follow?

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear

I think Murray has followed some bad advice by his agent. OK, if money is his sole motivation then he might tick that box but he was.....

given a reputation at Rochdale as being moody and a loner (fairly or unfairly - who knows?)
a long time in settling in at Brighton
willing to put in a transfer request whilst here
subject to a couple of injuries and a hernia operation
only a 20 goal a season player this season, when we played the best football in years and had a regular supply to the forwards
still unproven at Championship level

If I were his agent, I would have advised him to accept their wage offer but pushed to make up the difference in financial expectations through goal / appearance / win bonuses and a clause which allowed him to talk to other clubs if they offered a certain fee / wage. Yeah, the agent could miss out on a cut, but it would have been in the better interests of his client.

I would have expected that Murray would have had a much better chance to shine in a higher division by starting the season with Brighton, with a team, style and a manager he knows, fans giving him their full backing rather than being suspiscious of his credentials as a Championship player rather than starting elsewhere with the weight of new fans' expectations on his shoulders partly or mainly set by his wage demands.

Only time will tell.

As for Palace. They're having a laugh coming over all high and mighty when they've overspent and escaped crippling debts twice and been in a relegation dog-fight twice in the past two seasons.
