Thought three was only for serious foul play so potentially just two? Or even maybe only the one, which is often the punishment for stopping a goal scoring opportunity

It's one for a straight red unless it's dangerous or reckless. Never two unless they've already had a ban.

Before anyone argues, it was a red. It's quicker to duck than raise your hands and therefore he could have avoided being hit in the face if he wanted to duck.

One if he had wanted a three match he could have right hooked Hutchinson.

A slightly frivolous appeal that he was protecting himself and he'll end up missing Lincoln.

Very much a game of opinions and shows why video replays for certain things may not work.

Personally, I feel that if you're defending your face from the ball (as soft as the person is being!), it shouldn't be red as the ball would have hit the person anyway. A yellow would have been sufficient in my eyes.

Thought it could have been a blessing in disguise as it may have prompted us to bring in a striker by showing us how one striker can easily miss games, but with it being only a single game suspension...?
