"It's such a massive club."

In what way is Crystal Palace massive ?

Fan base ? past trophies ? size of stadium ?

Help me out here because I am struggling big time.
Remind me how Brighton's average attendance has compared to ours in recent years?
Remind me how many trophies Brighton have won in the the last century?
Our stadium - despite being shit - is bigger than yours. Our new stadium will also be bigger.
Haven't been in the third tier for 35 years - unlike yourselves

Happy to help :)
Non of which makes Palace massive.

You on the other hand are a massive wanker.

I'm sure he's terrified. Most of the 12000 JCL glory hunters will not even know he played for you.

He will be keeping his head down, just like you will be Old Git.

From the Newshound post, but thought it deserved to be on the Main Board. Is this the first he has said publicly since the move?

Despite scoring 22 goals to help the Seagulls clinch the League One title last term, striker Murray will be in for a hot reception when the sides meet after turning down a new contract to sign for their fierce derby rivals instead.

Brighton have since smashed their transfer record by signing Craig Mackail-Smith to replace Murray and are being tipped as dark horses for another promotion tilt.

But 27-year-old Murray is confident he made the right decision to leave the south coast and make the short trip up the A23 to south London.

"I'm looking forward to those two games especially, as I think our fans will be as well," he told Palace's official website.

"It's such a massive club. Palace were always in the top division when I was growing up so it's a big pull to play for a big club like this."

He must have had an extremely short childhood, because in EVERY era, they spent more time NOT in the top division.

And at no stage in the wider football world (apart from in grimey Croydon) have they've been considered a permanent top-20 club and massive.
The latter term would be reserved for Spurs, Arsenal, LFC, ManU etc.
Sounds like trying to convince himself he made the right move.

Did the non-Croydon media consider his move a step upwards? I never read that.

Remind me,how many promotions have you had in the last decade? Just get over the fact that out of all our games between us....Albion wins 36...Palace 34...the only thing you've had more than us is almost 2 administrations,One thing for sure is, Palace have never been Champions of all England

Who is this lad, does he not know we were asset stripped and so we had to play in the lowest division 140 mile round trip from Brighton and then at an athletics track holding 6K then 8K? I suppose he has not seen palace limp to 9K season tickets whilst Brighton sell out 18500 and have a waiting list, waiting for the next phase of the expansion of the ground. As for trophies, well the poor lad also is on a loser. Its a Charity Shield & Champions of England to Brighton and a well er Zenith data auto windscreen simod cup to palace. The best thing palace did was get to the cup final a few years after Brighton did. In the same way Shef W, Shef U, Wolves and many middle ranking clubs were still bigger than the small team in croydon when in the lower divisions, so were we and so we are now. Its simple, Brighton is a regional club, palace a small croydon club. The other main difference between us is that when Brighton fans fight for its club it gets on the front page of the news and first item on the BBC. When palace march through the city, then everyone laughs at the 300 teenagers that turned up. Where are those pictures of York City game sitting alongside the oh so funny palace march through the city? Murray didnt make it at Albion and got a job with a smaller club up the road.

Here's a funny thing.
The 'massive' club from grimey Croydon are desperate for season tickets to be sold, despite 'stellar freebie signing' of awkward Cumbrian.

Palace make new appeal to fans From News Shopper)

Seems football fans cant's wait to get away from the Croydon slums, and watch some decent football a short journey away at Fulham, Arsenal, Chelsea or QPR.

OK I'm ready to be shot down on this one but I find the murray hating a bit hard to take. He was immense last year and I actually think without him we would have struggled to gain promotion. He worked his socks off and was great to watch. Yes its a stupid thing to join our biggest rivals but you know he did not grow up on the rivalry and i guess we don't know what we offered contract way and there did not seem a queue of interested clubs in his services. Anyway we ended up with CMS so everyones a winner as far as i can see.

Plus what else is he going to say about his new club?

Agree, he didnt make it at Brighton and got a job at a smaller club that maybe our rivals but as he is from Cumbria then that means nothing to him

Keep up mate.

Timing is not the main point.

Do massive clubs chase season ticket sales, on embarrasingly low totals?

Or do they leave that to perennial relegation candidates, with a crumbling stadium & no money for new players? (CPFC)

Gutting for you that you thought on the back of Spurs to Stratford, you too would get a proper stadium. Hard lines.
