Still love the Nirvana and REM shows best of all. My favourite band of the moment couldn't ever appear as " Unplugged" … Public Service Broadcasting !

Pearl Jam Unplugged is my favourite, can't embed though as it's only on Daily Motion.

I read a brilliant article about this phenomenon a few years back. The key points were record companies and managers loved it, as they got a totally free album; not only was the recording costs covered they didn’t need to spend a penny on promoting it either. This enabled MTV to get so many huge names.

And some bands even had MTV unplugged as their biggest selling album.

George Michael for me, I thought it was superb.
On a similar subject for all you music lovers, I'm addicted to watching all the 'Live from Daryl's house' series on You Tube.
Daryl Hall and a fabulous band sing various songs usually with a guest who made the original.
The Brooker T and O Jays episodes are brilliant.
It's very similar to MTV Unplugged.

Squeeze or rather Glenn Tilbrook/Chris Difford did the first ever show. They performed Pulling Mussells from a shell which isn't on YouTube. But this is.
