Ricky Gervais needs quoting here. He is correct when he says the way to address comedy is that you don't find something funny, not "MBB is shit and you will listen to me".

I don't find the Royle Family funny but many people do. I was shouted down on here once for that. "How dare you not find the RF funny you idiot."

For the record, with having an Irish background, I do find some of MBB funny but very samey now.

To actually start a thread on it to tell the NSC world how crap it is is pretty wankish. I find.
Interestingly, Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant brilliantly (in my objective opinion) lampooned catchphrase and set piece style sitcoms such as Mrs Brown’s Boys in their series ‘Extras’.

The opening titles to the in series sitcom ‘When the whistle blows’ look remarkably like those of Mrs Brown’s Boys.

He also has producers saying he should add glasses and a wig because they make everything funnier.

You’re quite right. Each to his own.
I have never liked and never laughed at Mr Bean. I have no problem with Rowan Atkinson - in fact quite the opposite, I like everything from Not the Nine O’Clock News onwards. Just not Mr Bean.

Very much agree with that. I find Mr. Bean and Johnny English dreadfully unfunny.
All else Mr. Atkinson, quite brilliant for me.

Well, I've been working through the BBC I Player set. 32 episodes so far. I watch one just before I retire each evening to wind the day down. I've really been finding it amusing. Doesn't take itself seriously. I'm easily pleased, perhaps.
