Someone, at this very moment in the youth team, and development team of Chelsea is sitting there thinking, what have we done? I'm not sure how someone like him isn't in a top 10 team. But I suppose coming to Brighton, playing how we do; he has thrived.

15 Million, how much the other bloke? :albion2:

Even Palace fans must think that they've done a great deal with Utd. Zaha has been ineffectual in the 3 halves where he played against Bridge, which is the sort of quality he'll be up against every week if he actually gets into the Utd team.

to me you contradict yourself. the fact that he is so good as a holding midfielder is the reason many teams would want him. look at the specialists now, they are all getting on a bit - Barry, Parker, Carrick. either that or in my opinion the others aren't as good as bridcutt. he is class, his positional sense is second to none.

Barry and Parker don't play the same role Carrick plays a closer one. He plays exactly the same as Makelele, no Prem team plays that formation consistently since he left Man U/ Chelsea occasionally, its far more continental in nature.

They said he was too short.

:ffsparr: what is England's obsession with height, Bridcutt has proven that doesn't matter as he still challenges in the air, and has often won the battle.

I agree. One of the highlights of Birmingham away last season was watching Liam outjump Zigic who is 6'7".

For someone who has such a powerful leap, it's unusual that he doesn't seem to be susceptible to hamstring injuries.

I hope.

If we don't go up I can see us probably losing Liam. Meaning we'll probably end up signing Hammond permanently as a poor mans Bridcutt replacement.

Barry IS a holding midfielder. fair enough Parker isn't for spurs, but is for england. many teams now play the continental style in this country. even if you play 4-4-2
you can have player holding in midfield. Bridcutt could play there for several prem teams.

In our favour is that I think he LOVES playing for Gus. In every break of play in the Amex he comes over and has a discussion with Gus. They seem to have a great relationship so it may be that he'd like to stay here and progress with us as long as Gus is here. I guess that means that we do need to go up.

Well I wasn’t wrong about his love for Gus and that he’d stay as long as he was manager was I? :lolol:

I loved watching Liam playing for us, quality player and THAT goal against Carlisle at Withdean
