But could it be because of our dark days that fans are really worrying about our performances and the real chance that we will be relegated?

Since we moved to the Amex the club has been on the up and we've been successful. But you don't have to look far to see clubs like Bolton, Wigan etc who played in the top flight sliding down the rungs and suffering financially as a result.

Players and managers are just passing through. The fans are the only constant (and that includes Mr Chairman of course). The fans understand the history of the club and the troubles we endured. I'm scared by the prospect of relegation and what that could lead to in the years to come and whilst I reserve my criticism for after the game, I do understand why the emotional burden of supporting the club is leading to outbursts such as were witnessed yesterday.

I don't boo the team off and never have. The only individual BHAFC player I have booed was Akpom (for reasons so obvious they need not be stated) but if you've paid your money to watch us play you are entitled to have a view.

Eh ? The Stoke fans were on their own player’s backs within minutes of the start. They were deafening for about 90 seconds when they scored, otherwise they were far worse than we’ve been, including in the Sami days (except the Millwall game perhaps).

Selective memory from me then. I do remember when they equalised the noise was tremendous. Having said that when we saved a point at the end - thank you Ryan, Dunk and Knockaert - I thought our fans were pretty noisy as well.

Well, if that's so, the ratio is 21,000/28,000 x 3,000 = 2,250 1901 club people who didn't go to Withdean, or rarely did.

I know many business folk who had no interest in the Albion, but got excited by the new stadium and bought a few 1901 seats. Partly to network, and to avoid being usurped by competitors in their profession . They drifted away from attending in the Garcia and Hyppia period, but got their mojo back with the PL in sight.

Is there still room on the back of a fag packet for those cock-eyed calculations with all of the health warnings you get on them now? We know that the number of people who went to Withdean is much, much higher than the capacity. We also know anecdotally that for every Spurs Fan/Local Business that got a 1901 ticket, there is someone like me who wanted to treat themselves to a good view and experience. In my case, ironically, because I was sick of the kind of behaviour this thread is about. The few away games I have done in the PL have been a similar story. Quite how you went with this ridiculous leap of logic that "huge numbers" of 1901 members are not long term fans because of the behaviour of one small group is beyond me. It wasn't 1901 holding up begging signs for Hazard's shirt. Or leaving 15 minutes before the end. Or racially abusing players. Or assaulting stewards. But go and buy 20 B&H and see if you can somehow make it our fault.

Fraser is a prime example that some Weebles do fall down when they wobble, but rather than give him some stick some seem it would be better to get stuck into our own players, with Webster the prime target.

No, but they were 1 nil up Saturday and you might expect for the last 10 mins of the first half they're sent down the tunnel at HT with a bit of confidence filling their ears, instead of which was hardly even meriting a polite applause. I can understand fans not feeling like getting behind them when they're getting outplayed, but 1 up in a crucial game FFS.

I would have thought silence is enough to deafen the ears of most players leaving the pitch. Booing just makes no sense whatsoever unless you've gone to a Panto show.

I think the circumstances were probably responsible for the fans reaction last night. Bournemouth had been unbelievably poor, have a number of key players injured, we tore them apart only a few weeks ago, they were absolutely ripe (!) for being taken to the cleaners. So for thirty minutes we completely dictated play without scoring - always a bad sign. Then wallop. Two sloppy goals conceded, Bournemouth’s confidence skyrocketed.
It was all so unnecessary. We could have, should have, won the game with some degree of composure. We didn’t and that’s what rankles.

You're dead right about the mental aspect of having to cope with our crowd. Last night put me in mind of this.

I think it's probably getting worse. Last night we had a couple of people behind us who had a pop at my mate for eating a hot dog and spent most of the game digging us with their elbows. A bundle after a goal is one of the finer things in life but I could do without it during the rest of the game when they had a foot of space in front of them. Talking absolute bollocks throughout as well. Lost my (not very long) fuse a few times and turned round to confront them, only to realise that they didn't have anywhere near the self-awareness to realise what they were like. So there ya go

There's been many Albion player subjects of heated rants over the years. I remember Maybank getting crap, more recently a fella away at Millwall with veins showing in his neck whilst foaming at the mouth against Ryan Harley ( he was shit mind!)

At half time on the concourse there was a bloke ranting, who reckoned 'the best thing to happen would be to lose 6-0 and then Potter gets sacked'. Only he used a lot more expletives.

Our support in general was poor last night, as much as it pains me to say it. Even when we were on top during the early stages hardly any of us seemed to muster any sort of atmosphere
