MPs are expected to debate a bill that if passed would see the UK quit the EU.

Surely there are better ways to spend £65 billion a year? Reduced taxes would my first suggestion.

More than ever I believe we should be out of the EU and be quick about it.

Would love someone to justify exactly what benefits we get for such a massive sum.

All I can see is duplication of government, duplication of legal systems, duplication of bureaucracy, duplication of laws, massive corruption, unnecessary expenditure on grandiose EU schemes, etc., etc.

In fact I'm not sure I can come up with one single positive reason for continued membership.
I agree totally. I have written to my MP many times suggesting we get out of the EU and if they adopted just half of the UKIP policies they would have a landslide next General Election. Apathy among the voters is the problem, most people moan about things but do not do anything about it. :annoyed:

But what has annoyed me most is being governed by some idiots. It's got to stop.
So if we leave the EU the Tories will be forced out? Hmmmmm, it's almost worth it...

edit: Yes, I realise there are some Lib Dems involved somewhere but my point remains :)

In order to join the "Common Market' we had to severely cut trade with commonwealth countries, so we burned many bridges then. Goods traded between EU and non-EU countries are subject to customs duties. So if he U.K. leaves the E.U. British companies will be at a disadvantage if they trade with E.U. countries.
For the cost of £65 billion?.... we lose......we import more from the EU than we export to the EU....We lose...We obey their laws over ours...we lose. They want us to pay more yet we are not in the single currency.....we lose. Time to get back our fishing grounds, our political freedom.... OUT! OUT! OUT!

Say I lived in France and wanted to buy an Auris that was manufacturerd in the UK, how would that effect my purchase if the UK quit the EU? Would the car be more expensive?

This is the part someone needs to explain to me, because I just cannot see how would it may any difference.

Import duties.

The EU taxes goods and products that enter their territory from outside. This extra cost would be passed onto the consumer therefore increasing the price of the product. Subsequently, any multinational which uses this country as a base to trade with the EU would then have to decide whether their business would be more profitable inside or outside the border. If they decide on the former therefore the likelihood is that they would move their operations outside this country - and if we imposed import duties on goods coming in from the EU the likelihood would be that those costs would be passed onto the consumer, i.e us, making it more expensive than it is now.

Stating facts is not a point of view.
Many of the things blamed on the E.U. are actually the policies of 'The European Court of Human Rights'.
The E.U. didn't ask the U.K. to spend billions on wars in the middle east.
If you leave the E.U. you won't die.
If you say 'Bollocks' or OUT! OUT! OUT! it won't help.
If you want an operation you're better off where I live.
Good grief, what time is it?
I bloody well hope that the Albion win tomorrow!
