I find it hard to understand that being caught fiddling your expenses, as more than afew were, can lead to a massive pay rise. There is no other job in the country where this would happen. To say they find it hard to manage on a salary of 65 grand a year, in the top 5% of wage earners, is pretty insensitive to us who are really struggling

Interesting they say they can do nothing about it as they changed rhe law to create an independant awarding body.. obviously changing the law again to refuse the increase is an option too far when you are a greedy lardy-arsed cvnt of a politician.

What a piss take taking a massive pay rise and yet taxing the poor people because they have a spare bedroom. Bring on the revolt it wont be long.

The pay rise is of course decided by an independent body. I wonder how much influence MPs had in appointing the 'right' people, though. We as taxpayers are paying far too much for various 'independent' bodies - why not economise by having just one body to rule on NHS, civil service, police and MPs pay? - same wage rise (or not) for all?
