Enlgand won't qualify anyway so couldn't give a toss when or where it is. After the last debacle in South Africa and FIFA's attitude, I'm begining to lose all interest in the World Cup.

But why do you think England has so much clout? The rest of the world doesn't give a shit what we want or think - as was made plain two weeks ago.

its not about what we want, all the best players in the world play in the PL and it is such teams who pay their wages, so if they coincided with eachother you could see a situation where players are refusing to play for either their national team or their league team due to being committed to the other.

the WC is supposed to be a spectical of the best talent in world football, so would it not be hindered if such players were not involved?

If Premier League players were barred from The World Cup, It seems likely that Premier League clubs would be barred from The Champions League. Top world class players would not want to sign for English clubs if they could not play in either The World Cup or The Champions League. If the top players were not playing in The Premier League Sky would be unwilling to pay so much for the TV rights. To sum up if Premier League players were withdrawn from the World Cup English clubs would lose a lot of money, it's not going to happen.
With The African Nations Cup every 2years, and The World Cup every 4 years we make get our winter break after all.

But it wouldn't be. Clubs are obliged to release players for competitive games so it's not a question of being committed to one or another. Look at the way that the likes of Ferguson and Wenger carry on when of their players comes back after a long trip on international duty. Yet, for all their moaning, no manager refuses to let their players turn out for their national teams - because they know they can't.

Qatar World cup might be a good time to pull out and set up a rival tourno in the summer,no need to qualify, hope a couple of big nations don't make it through and mayby tempt others to come over for a better run tourno, could share with italy spain brazil argentina and host evey 20 years??? cant see germany choosing to play in mongolia when italy or england was on offer, they sell football round the world off the back of english football so which tournos would the emerging nations choose? Quite happy to sit out the QATAR FIASCO:smokin:
