Albion and AITC are calling on male fans to join them in growing a moustache during Movember!

Players and staff will avoid shaving their top lip for the month of November to help raise awareness and funds for Prostate Cancer UK, the Football League’s Official Charity Partner for the 2012/13 season.

The global movement raised around £22 million last year, with over 250,000 UK men adorning a variety of weird and wonderful tashes, and has the full support of the Foortball; League’s 72 member clubs.

One in nine men will develop prostate cancer at some stage in their life and every hour someone dies from the disease. Female supporters are urged to play their part by convincing male friends and family to participate.

Fans of each club are encouraged to sign up to their respective Movember ‘team’ – ours is BHA Mo Bros – and the challenge is on to see which set of supporters can raise the most money.

Collectively, the aim is to beat the total raised by professional football clubs in 2011 – £50,000.

Stuart Christie, Head of AITC Health said: “It is fantastic to see everyone at the club get behind Movember in a big way this year. It is a fun and simple way to raise awareness about men’s health and, more specifically, help raise funds for research into prostate cancer. The campaign has particular significance to Albion in the Community given the local work we are doing around cancer awareness in Brighton and Hove and West Sussex.”

Join the Albion family and grow a mo with the BHA Mo Bros!

Register your top lip here.

NB: The website has been deluged with registrations so please be patient!

Don't forget Durlston, it's only the tash you need to grow!

Captain Gordon Greer is running things from a players' perspective and all will become clear in a few days time!

Follow the links to join in with the players, staff and AITC, or make a small donation.

We're up against the other 72 League clubs so it would be great to finish top of the league.

Help us spread the word!

How's everybody's moustaches?

Mine's getting unbelievably itchy but I'm going to see it through the whole month. I look completely different with the decision to grow a beard as well! :)

My brother-in-law looks Eastern European.

Mine's a bit itchy as well but I now bear a passing resemblance to Sully in his prime so am quite happy with it.
